The Toronto Maple Leafs will be hanging on to defenseman Timothy Liljegren for a while.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are retaining the services of defenseman Timothy Liljegren.
According to a breaking news report from Maple Leafs insider Jonas Siegel, Liljegren and the Maple Leafs have come to terms on a 2 year deal that will carry an average annual value and salary cap hit of $3 million per season.
This will represent a significant raise for Liljegren whose previous contract, signed by former Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas in the summer of 2022, carried an average annual value and salary cap hit of just $1.4 million on a 2 year term.
Liljegren is coming off of a 55 game regular season in which he recorded 3 goals and added 20 assists for a total of 23 points, and had a single assist during his 6 playoff game appearances this season.
