It always a great thing to be able to count on two talented goalies when you’re a head coach like Vegas Golden Knights’ Pete DeBoer.

It isn’t a great thing when you’re Marc-Andre Fleury, who had the starting job in the first place but lost it to Robin Lehner when he came to Sin City in a trade from the Chicago Blackhawks.

Lehner had a remarkable 1.67 goals against average and .940 save percentage in just three games with Vegas before the season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He got the start in his new team’s first round robin game against the Dallas Stars on Monday. He remained cool and collected and hung in there for the 4-3 win.

However, DeBoer is not giving up on Flower just yet. The bench boss has decided to stick to sticking with the rotation he started since the day Vegas acquired Lehner, and has put Fleury as his starting goalie for today’s matchup against the St. Louis Blues.

The 2019-20 season has been quite tough on Fleury, he who lost his father to cancer back in November. Back in January, the 35-year-old had admitted that he hadn’t been himself in recent weeks. He tried to stay busy, but explained how the quiet times have been the hardest to handle.

However, we bet he is ready to show he is the man to trust in behind the pipes for the postseason. This is his chance!
