Today is a very special day in the career of beloved National Hockey League goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, with the long time NHL netminder set to play in the 1000th NHL game of his incredible career.
There will no doubt be a ton of moments to talk about as this game rolls along, but things got off to a pretty special start early on today when Fleury hit the ice just prior to his 1000th career game. Fleury's teammates on the Wild showed great class and let Fleury skate out onto the ice for warmups all by himself, as is often done for rookies playing in their very first NHL game, and did not step foot out onto the ice until Fleury returned to the door and personally ushered them onto the playing surface.
