Following Canada's stunning loss to Denmark at the World Championships today.
Denmark has absolutely STUNNED Canada at the IIHF World Championships today.
With Canada nursing a 1-0 lead in the 3rd period of today's elimination game, Denmark scored two quick goals to win 2-1 and eliminate Canada from the tournament.
Nikolaj Ehlers, the only NHLer on Denmark's roster, got things started by tying the game with just over 2 minutes remaining in regulation:
And then with just 48 seconds left in the game Denmark stunned the hockey world:
Wow... wow... wow!
This is without a doubt the largest victory in Danish hockey history. They'll not move on while Canada's tournament comes to an end. And with Canada bowing out, we bid adieu to future Hall of Famer Marc-Andre Fleury.
Fleury's NHL career came to an end when the Minnesota Wild were eliminated in the Stanley Cup Playoffs earlier this month and now his international career also comes to an end. Next stop: The Hockey Hall of Fame.
