We don’t need to remind you what kind of reputation Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand has across the National Hockey League. However, teammates and other players maintained that he is a nice guy.

He finally revealed that side of him on Monday night when the Senators in Ottawa.

Ahead of puck drop, nine-year-old Sophia Pierce rocked the Canadian Tire Centre with her renditions of both the “Star-Spangled Banner” and “O Canada”.

Fans in the crowd were impressed, but players on the ice were too. And Marchand simply couldn’t keep it to himself. After the young girl wrapped up the singing of the national anthems, Marchand skated over to her to congratulate her on a job well done.

It might have been so out of character for Marchand, that it seemed to have thrown off his game. He ended up recording two assists and Boston took a 5-2 loss at the hands of the Sens.
