Marchand strikes again.
The Boston Bruins are facing the Carolina Hurricanes later tonight and there is already beef in the air.
Canes’ Vincent Trocheck was asked earlier in the day if his game was similar to Brad Marchand’s. His answer? “Are you calling me a rat?”
This got to the ears of Marchand himself and the Bruins’ star player responded with a funny Photoshopped post on his Instagram account to explain how both he and Trocheck are nothing alike.
You have to applaud Marchand’s creativity, but Trocheck and the Hurricanes’ forward do play a similar style of game. They are both gritty players who know how to get under opponents’ skin. However, when it comes to statistics and offense, Marchand is the better of the two.
Marchand has scored twenty or more goals in each of his eleven seasons in the National Hockey League including a four-year stretch from 2015 to 2019 where he tallied 34 or more goals.
However for Trocheck, he has only scored twenty or more goals three times throughout his career. But he was a valuable to the Florida Panthers and now the Hurricanes, no doubt.
Marchand decided to mock Trocheck to tell it like it is… and fans are loving it!
We might get to find out how Trocheck feels about the comparison on the ice later tonight, as the Bruins and Hurricanes head-to-head at TD Garden in Boston.
