What an absolute joke...
In case you missed it last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs earned themselves a hard fought victory over the Dallas Stars by a score of 5-4.
Superstar forwards Mitch Marner and William Nylander each scored 20 seconds apart late in the third period to secure the victory for the Leafs, while Auston Matthews added his league-leading 41st tally of the season earlier in the game.
Leafs defenceman Jake McCabe was left bloodied and very angry after receiving a questionable hit from Stars forward Mason Marchment in the 2nd period.
Here's the hit in question with McCabe reaction to the officials for the unpenalized play:
Today, NHL Player Safety head George Parros handed out a punishment to Marchment for the hit... but it's pretty toothless. Marchment will fork over just $5,000 as a result of his dangerous hit.

Needless to say, Leafs fans are NOT happy with this punishment. Marchment's annual salary is $4.5 million... he drops $5,000 on a coffee break...

The Toronto Maple Leafs have a beef with the on-ice officials tonight at Scotiabank Arena, and they have a case.
During tonight's game against the visiting Dallas Stars, Toronto's Jake McCabe was leveled by a late, blindside hit by Dallas forward Mason Marchment, resulting in substantial leakage:
Needless to say, McCabe was furious that there was no penalty on the play, continuing to give it to the officials from the bench:
And not surprisingly, head coach Sheldon Keefe didn't hesitate to give the officials a piece of his mind:
