Earlier this year we witnessed a rare interdivisional trade between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins, one that sent veteran defenseman Brandon Carlo to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for prospect Fraser Minten, a 2026 first round pick and a 2025 fourth round pick.

While we've already seen Carlo hit the ice for the Maple Leafs and have a fairly good grasp on how he has fit within Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube's system, what we have yet to see is how the Minten acquisition will work out for the Bruins. Minten did appear in 6 games for the Boston Bruins last season, but that is hardly the kind of sample size that you can draw any conclusions from.

Now however Minten has had the opportunity to engage in a full training camp as well as the preseason, and recently Bruins head coach Marco Sturm was asked to share his thoughts on the young forward. Sturm seemed to have nothing but praise for Minten.

"I like this kid," said Sturm of Minten. "He played great, he came in ready to go, he played like a man."

Sturm also went out of his way to praise Minten's attitude, emphasizing again how Minten has done everything right during his time with the Bruins thus far.

"He didn't complain about the rookie tournament," revealed Sturm. "He just did his job on and off the ice."

Sturm also revealed that he deliberately paired Minten with fellow Bruins forward Tanner Jeannot, indicating that he thinks Jeannot will prevent anyone from trying any funny business with Minten in the future.

"I think it really helps for him to be playing with a guy like Tanner Jeannot," said Sturm. "There will be no issues for him."

Sturm once again had nothing but praise for Minten and it will be interesting to see if Minten can deliver on the promise that many believe he has this season in the National Hockey League.

You can hear Sturm's praise in his own words in the short clip below:
