Mark Messier award nominees revealed!

Awards season is right around the corner and the NHL Public Relations is progressively disclosing the nominees for the various trophies. Today, we learned who would be the nominees for the Mark Messier NHL Leadership Award. 

The choices are far from being surprising. Foligno led the Blue Jackets to one of their most successful year on record, Getzlaf rallied the Ducks for a playoff run that could get them deep this year and Giordano led a group of young and promising Flames to a late push. 

This award might not be the most prestigious in a lot of people's mind, but it tells a long story. Leading a modern NHL team is no picnic and these guys deserve the attention they get for their true leadership skills.
