Mark Stone mysteriously injured on most routine play
This was tough to watch though…

Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone unleashed what looked like a routine shot during the second period Thursday that was deflected into the Staples Center crowd.
Then, everything stopped. As he skated toward the bench, it was clear something was wrong. He could put any weight on his legs and needed the help of teammates to get off the ice. He was then dragged down the tunnel with two trainers supporting him.
This is the sequence in question. It is tough to watch Stone in so much pain especially when fans have no clue what actually happened on the play:
Stone left in the second period did not return to the Knights’ 6-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
There was no update available on Stone’s status immediately after the game.
“It was an innocent play. He just locked up,” coach Pete DeBoer said. “He’s been dealing with something on and off, but it hasn’t bothered him to the point that he hasn’t been able to play.”
Could he have aggravated this minor injury? The only good news at the moment is that Stone has to heal before their next game Wednesday against the St. Louis Blues.
Maybe fans will know more by then…
