Marner responds to reports that he received two contract offers from Leafs’ rivals

In case you missed the news earlier today, Darren Ferris, the agent for Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner, confirmed that his client in fact received two RFA offersheets this past offseason, but elected to decline both offers.

Ferris would not confirm which teams wooed Marner, but he did go on to say that leaving Toronto was never really an option for Marner. In fact, Marner confirmed the same sentiment when he met with reporters later in the day:
Forced the issue right to $10.8 million… that’s some good negotiating right there.
