From set aside to signed
Mathieu Joseph was on unconditional waivers on Thursday and saw his contract with the St. Louis Blues getting terminated on Friday.
Moments later, he was signed by the Los Angeles Kings to one year at a pro-rated $900K deal.
Joseph, who desperately need a fresh start, played for new interim head coach DJ Smith back when both were with the Senators in Ottawa.
The winger brings some physicality to LA. He has appeared in 39 games for St. Louis this season, registering two goals and 11 points.
Because he signed with the Kings before the 3 p.m. ET deadline, he'll be eligible to suit up for the post-season should the Kings quallify.
Los Angeles has been dealing with several injuries up front and the added depth brought by Joseph is a brilliant low-risk move.
