The baddest man in the NHL takes down another giant.
For some time it has been readily apparent to many that Columbus Blue Jackets enforcer Mathieu Olivier is the National Hockey League's undisputed heavyweight champion, and he proved that once again on Saturday night.
This time Olivier took on Tampa Bay Lightning enforcer Curtis Douglas and, like he has done many times in the past, Olivier was giving up a considerable size and reach advantage in order to do so. Olivier stands just 6 feet 1 inch tall and although no small man himself he looked small next to the towering Douglas who comes in at 6 feet 9 inches tall. Douglas was not only the taller man but also boasted a 10 lbs weight advantage coming into this one, giving Olivier quite the uphill battle.
In spite of the relatively large size discrepancy between the two men, it wasn't long before this looked like another classic scrap from Olivier. The Blue Jackets forward used his superior technical abilities to get the better of the trades against the bigger man, eventually rocking Douglas before dragging him down to the ice to put an end to the exchange.
Another challenger down for Olivier, who continues his reign of dominance across the NHL.
