Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews officially became the team's all-time leading goal scorer when he surpassed Hall of Famer Mats Sundin with career goal 421 this past weekend.

This evening, the Leafs officially recognized Matthews' accomplishment complete with a visit from Sundin himself in a special moment for all of Leafs Nation.

Check it out:

Sundin, Kennedy, Mahovlich, Armstrong, Keon, Sittler... and now Matthews. And the best part is that Matthews is just getting started. He has reached the top of the Leafs' goal total at just 28 years old and there's reason to believe that he'll sit atop that list for a long, long, long time to come.

Congrats, captain!
