Matt Niskanen addresses the media following DISGUSTING hit to the head of Sidney Crosby.
In what was either an incredibly unfortunate accident or a vicious blow to the head from Washington Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen Crosby was on the receiving end of a cross-check like motion to the head.
Crosby never game back in the game as everyone knows his history with concussion. Many questions stay unanswered despite the fact that Matt Niskanen faced the music and met the media following the Washington Capitals OT 3-2 win.
“It was not intentional, wasn’t even trying to cross check him.” Said Niskanen.
Which is quite controversial after everyone saw the sequence. However, Niskanen added, “It was an unfortunate play. I certainly didn’t mean to injure him." And “hopes Crosby is not injured.”
“I’ve seen the replay. On super slow mo, it looks really bad,” Niskanen said.”I got him high. He’s coming across trying to score. As he is doing that, he’s getting lower and lower. I wasn’t extending trying to hit him in the head it happened quickly.”
