New York Rangers rookie enforcer Matt Rempe has quickly become a fan favorite over the course of his first season in the National Hockey League and, in spite of the fact that he is seeing less ice time at this stage of the season, that trend has continued in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

In spite of the fact that he was a relatively minor factor in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Florida Panthers, Rempe did get to play a role in his team's win on Friday night and once again Rempe's charisma and enthusiasm shone through following his performance on the ice.

Rempe was even deployed at pivotal moments during the game, including during the third period and overtime, as Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette tried to get some of his top stars some additional moments of rest at critical moments in the game and Rempe did a very poor job of hiding his excitement about it.

"I heard Lavi call my name with like 2 minutes left and I was like, 'Oh my God, let's go! Jiminy Crickets, let's go!' I was thrown out there and I just tried to buzz around and do my job," admitted Rempe following Game 2.

Rempe's comments continue to endear him to fans and his use of 'Jiminy Crickets' in particular appears to have tickled most fans just the right way. The 21 year old rookie appears to be having the time of his life, and most fans seem happy to tag along for the ride.
