Matthew Gaudreau’s wife Madeline shares emotional update on her newborn son
Beautiful, but so heartbreaking at the same time.
Madeline Gaudreau, the wife of late Matthew Gaudreau, gave birth last month to the couple’s first child, a son named Tripp. Earlier this month, she had posted a photo on her Instagram Stories of her hand hooked up to an IV after giving birth, which showed her wedding ring, as she was in the hospital, with the caption: “Had Matty with me the whole time 🤍🤍🦋🦋🦋.”
On Wednesday, Madeline shared a new photo on her Instagram account, showing her holding her baby son Tripp Matthew, who is wearing an adorable brown knit jumper, resting in his mom’s arms.
In the picture, we can see a stack of friendship bracelets, which had the name of her son, as well as the name of her late husband. The boy will always know who was his father and the love and excitement he had for him coming into this world.
“Our Boy 🦋,” Madeline wrote in her caption.
Following the death of Matthew, who died alongside his brother Columbus Blue Jackets star forward Johnny Gaudreau while riding bikes in Oldmans Township, New Jersey, on August 29, on the eve of their sister’s wedding, Madeline had said that she will “keep going” for him and their baby boy.
Johnny was 31 years old at the time of his death, while Matthew was 29. Johnny’s wife Meredith Gaudreau is also pregnant with the couple’s third child as the couple shared daughter Noa and son Johnny.
