Matthew Tkachuk addresses his doubters after eliminating the Bruins on Sunday.

The Florida Panthers have pulled off what Matthew Tkachuk believes to be perhaps the greatest upset in the history of the National Hockey League.

On Sunday night, the Panthers shocked the Boston Bruins at TD Garden in Boston when they eliminated them in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Bruins were coming off the most dominant regular season in the history of the NHL and nothing short of a Stanley Cup would have met exceptions, so a first round exit is nothing short of devastating.

Devastation for the Bruins though is jubilitation for the Florida Panthers, and following the game Tkachuk shared his thoughts about the monumental upset and addressed those that doubted his team.

"It really is the biggest upset in NHL history," said Tkachuk on Sunday. To every single other person other than the guys in that room. Trust me, I mean we knew we probably weren't the favorites against a 65 win team but what an unbelievable effort."

"We just did what nobody in the world thought we could do and that's pretty exciting."
