How do you allow seven goals in an elimination game?! That’s what every Calgary Flames fan must be asking after the Canadian club jumped out to a three-goal lead in a do-or-die Game 6 against theStars onThursday night, but ended up losing 7-3 and going home. The Stars won the best-of-seven series 4-2 and will face the Colorado Avalanche in Round 2.

Forward Matthew Tkachuk watched from the suite as he didn’t play in the series after suffering an injury in the third period of Game 2 when he was sandwiched by the Stars’Jamie Benn and Jamie Oleksiak. Some pundits speculate he has suffered a concussion.

In this do or die Game 6 to push it to an ultimate seventh contest, Tkachuk watched on, hoping he could suit up for Game 7. Instead, he was forced to watch as his Flames seven unanswered goals from the Stars who advance to the second round.

Tkachuk was disgusted and cameras caught his reaction to his Flames’ humiliating elimination. The footage says it all, He was shown tossing his hat and walking away from the ice in disgust. He simply cannot believe what he is seeing.

This was caught when Stars’ Denis Gurianov scored his fourth goal of the night in the third period. It was clear it was the end of the Flames and another disappointing end to a Calgary season as the team again failed to advance past the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

This is the sixth time in seven postseason appearances the Flames have lost in the first round since going to the Stanley Cup Final back in 2003. And it looks like even Tkachuk has had enough.
