Matthew Tkachuk's chewed up mouthguard has made it into the Hockey Hall of Fame
LOL!
Matthew Tkachuk has made it to the Hockey Hall of Fame... kind of.
The Hall unveiled their official display for the 2024 Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers yesterday and included in the display is Tkachuk's infamous chewed up mouth guard.
From Panthers insider Alex Baumgartner:
And the mouthguard in question:
Absolutely disgusting. I love it.
Tkachuk, of course, is kind of known for chewing on his mouthguard rather than using it to... ya know... guard his mouth. This seems to be somewhat of a trend with some NHLers with Tkachuk, Patrick Kane and Mitch Marner as the most famous examples. Personally, I have no clue what value these players get from chewing on their mouthguards, but if it gets you into the Hall of Fame then who am I to argue?
