It might be safe to say that Auston Matthews won’t forget Scott Sabourin’s name anymore…
We all remember how Matthews trolled the Senators forward during an exhibition contest between the two sides on Sept. 18.
The video of the incident went viral.
However on Wednesday night in the curtain-raiser on the 2019-20 NHL campaign. Sabourin recorded the first NHL goal of his career, he who fought really hard to make it in the big league.
He finally got a spot on an NHL roster after spending seven years in the American Hockey League. The 27-year-old made his NHL debut this season after cracking the Senators’ roster out of camp.
Right after Sabourin scored his first goal to tie the game at 2, the camera zoomed in on Matthews to see him react.

Despite losing 5-3 to the Leafs on their season opener, the Senators managed to put up a good outing and Sabourin keeps putting his name on the map.
We bet Matthews won’t ever ask again who is it!
