It's good to be back, isn't that right Auston Matthews?!

The young Toronto Maple Leafs' star phenom returned to the lineup on Wednesday night against the visiting San Jose Sharks. Leafs head coach Mike Babcock confirmed the move this morning. The 21-year-old Matthews hasn’t played since suffering a shoulder injury Oct. 27 against the Winnipeg Jets.

"Matthews is cleared medically, says he’s ready to go (and) feels comfortable to take a big hit, so he’s ready to play," Babcock said.

Some fans might have wondered if the kid would be rusty after a 14-game absence, but Matthews picked up where he left off. After collecting an assist on the first goal of the contest scored by teammate John Tavares, Matthews gave the Maple Leafs the lead back when he scored a beautiful wrister on the power-play.

You can see the Matthews’ goal in the video above this text, atop of the article.

Matthews was hurt early in the second period of Toronto’s 3-2 victory over Winnipeg last month when Jets defenceman Jacob Trouba delivered a shoulder-to-shoulder check as the Leafs forward tried to cut in front of the net.

Clearly, his shoulder is back to perfect form as he fired a shot with strength and ... perfection! And Matthews has made it clear he does not like to miss time off the ice.

Wow!

PS: His feed to Tavares was pretty great too!
