Hockey fans always expect the very best from their athletes and that goes double for players who represent the sport as members of the National Hockey League. Thankfully hockey does boast some of the very best people in the entire sporting world, and over the course of the past few days Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi treated us to yet another example of that fact.

As many of you will already know, Type 1 Diabetes is a cause that is very near and dear to Domi, who himself suffers from the condition, and recently Domi has gone out of his way to put a smile on the face of those who are afflicted by the disease.

Domi began by going above and beyond for a young fan who showed up to one of his games with a sign showcasing the fact that he was also afflicted by the disease. Domi spotted the sign and quickly gathered up a puck before skating back over to the young man and giving him a gift that, judging by his reaction, he won't soon be forgetting.

Domi is unsurprisingly an inspiration to others who are also afflicted by the lifelong disease, but he himself can also be inspired by others. Over the weekend, Domi took the time to highlight one of his own inspirations, who also happens to suffer from Type 1 Diabetes, Andrew Koutnik.

Domi didn't have to take the time to highlight Koutnik's own inspirational work but he did so out of the goodness of his heart, and I am happy to report that it appears to have put yet another smile on another face courtesy of Max Domi.
