McAvoy rocks Anderson with a head shot and John Tortorella is PISSED

Late in the second period of tonight’s Game 6 action between the Boston Bruins and Columbus Blue Jackets and we have yet ANOTHER controversial call from the on ice officials.

Bruins defender Charlie McAvoy absolutely TRUCKS Jackets forward Josh Anderson with a blatant head shot. The call? Two minute minor.

Check it out:

Good grief… that’s a two minute minor? Yet the crosscheck on Pavelski is a five minute major?

I’m not saying McAvoy is a dirty player or that he even targeted the head. Accidents happen, but let’s not pretend that this wasn’t a blatant head shot. Clearly another blown call from NHL refs. Surprise, surprise.

As you might imagine, Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella is NOT happy:

UPDATE: Anderson is back on the ice to start the third period.
