This just in from Edmonton Oilers insider Ryan Rishaug of TSN, Oilers captain Connor McDavid, along with some other fellow Oilers’ players, have been instructed to leave Edmonton and head to their offseason homes until instructed otherwise.

Check it out:

Most of the Oilers who remained in Edmonton after the shut down have now made their way to their off season homes - McDavid and Nurse included.  Players have been told to treat this time as the off season, in case there is a compacted playoff, followed by a new season.

McDavid, who had been quarantined at his home in Edmonton since the NHL went on “pause” last month, will now presumably return to his home just outside of Toronto in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

This seems to be one more sing that the NHL doesn’t plan on resuming its season anytime soon. This news seems to fly in the face of conflicting reports about the league returning in June or July.
