McKenzie suggests another crazy rule change to overtime!
KeyStone Press

Last week, NHL general managers met in Montreal to celebrate the league's 100th anniversary, but to also discuss a few hot issues. GMs have talked about a major rule change to overtime that is doomed to create controversy. The general managers would be talking about changing the length of a minor penalty that occurs in OT, going from the usual two minutes to one minute in the box.

The GMs have not decided yet on that rule modification as a lot more needs to be taken into consideration.

In the meantime, TSN insiders had fun sharing their opinion on the potential modification, and the best insider Bob McKenzie suggested a crazy add-on change if the GMs decide to go forward with the one-minute penalty during last night's Quiz.

"I like that the penalty is two minutes, whether it's in regulation or in overtime, it does not matter to me. Although I would suggest this, if they want to go to a one-minute penalty in overtime, three on two, not four on three."

While we can expect the proposal change to create some controversy and division between the league's GMs, imagine if McKenzie's suggestion is brought into consideration.

What's your position? Do you want to see this rule change take place? And would you add McKenzie's idea?
