This is a wonderful story. You may recall that former “Mighty Ducks” star Shaun Weiss, who played Goldberg the goalie, had got himself into a bit of legal trouble the past couple years. Just five days after being released from jail on a petty theft charge in 2018, Weiss was arrested for possession of a methamphetamines. The 42-year-old actor was reported picked up by police when he was found stumbling around yards in a residential Hollywood neighborhood high on meth.
This was rock bottom for the actor who decided then to take responsibility for his downfall and get the help he needed to overcome his disease. He has served his time for drug possession and has reportedly undergone rehab treatment and is now 230 days sober.
Check out this pic of Shaun now … he’s no longer frail and disheveled. Instead, he’s in great spirits and has apparently gained a lot of weight. He has also got a new set of teeth and we love to see that smile. Los Angeles-based dentist Dr. Gabe Rosenthal offered his dental services for free, but otherwise it would have cost Weiss somewhere close to $80,000.
“He’s just a great guy,” Rosenthal told Page Six."He’s such a good guy, such a sweetheart. He’s putting his weight back on. He is so much more confident. … He’s ready to go. He feels better. Every time I see him he gains a few more pounds. His face is filling out, he’s smiling like crazy now.” Rosenthal helped clear infections, remove broken teeth, and fix Weiss’ broken root tips. He’s so far gone through four surgeries to repair his teeth, and he’s due for one last one later by early 2021. “Weiss has to stay sober. That’s number one,” he added. “Hopefully, he can keep fighting the good fight.”
That’s an incredible story that we hope keeps going for Weiss. One day at a time, brother. One day at a time.
