Mike Babcock calls out Matthew Tkachuk after cheap shot from the bench.

There are already some whispers floating around that suggest Calgary Flames agitator Matthew Tkachuk will be hearing from the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety for his spear on Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matt Martin.

Tkachuk delivered a spear to Martin during a scrum on the ice, but what makes things look particularly bad for Tkachuk is the fact that he was on the bench when he delivered the shot to Martin, who was on the ice. While we will have to wait to hear what the NHL decides to do, Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock didn't hesitate to make his feelings on the matter very clear.

Babcock was asked about the spear from Tkachuk and he used hockey terminology to basically call out Tkachuk for behaving a kid.

"That's junior hockey stuff," said the Maple Leafs head coach."

While this is the last time these two teams will face off this season there was some bad blood out there on the ice tonight. With both teams having so many young players that will be back next year it will be interesting to see how this rivalry develops.
