Mike Babcock calls out Toronto media, tells them to “chill out.”

On Monday Mike Babcock tried to do the impossible, he tried to reign in the Toronto media.

The Toronto Maple Leafs head coach addressed the suddenly newfound hype around his group of young players, hype that has many in Toronto believing that a failure to make the playoffs would be a major letdown, this despite the Leafs still being in the early stages of their rebuild.

"Let's not get carried away here," said Babcock.

Babcock stated that his experience in the National Hockey League has taught him not to make any judgements based on just half a season, and specifically asked the Toronto media to tone down their behavior, something that has largely created this hype up in the first place.

"Just chill," implored Babcock.
