Mike Babcock interviews for vacant NHL coaching job
It's official, Babs is back in the picture. But... will he get the job?

According to a second report from Columbus Blue Jackets insider Mark Sheig via TSN insider Pierre LeBrun, the Blue Jackets have interviewed former Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and Anaheim (Mighty) Ducks head coach Mike Babcock for their vacant coaching position.
From Sheig:
The Blue Jackets fired head coach Brad Larsen last month, after failing to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the second season under Larsen. Now, it appears that they're seeking a veteran head coach in the mold of former Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella, now of the Philadelphia Flyers.
While Babcock fits the bill of an experienced, no nonsense coach I personally feel like Peter Laviolette may be a better fit in Columbus. For one, Laviolette has coached in the NHL the past three years while Babcock has been at home in Saskatchewan. While I appreciate that Babcock could get himself back up to speed, there's no worry about that at all with Laviolette.
Stay tuned, but personally I'd be very surprised if Babcock got any real consideration from the club.
