Big changes as things are looking up for the Oilers.
The Edmonton Oilers have hit the ground running with a hot start to the 2026-27 season, posting a 5-1-1 record under newly appointed head coach Mike Babcock. The Oilers have done so while missing some key members of their lineup, and as a result on Saturday night the Oilers will receive some significant help to bolster that lineup.
Babcock has officially confirmed the return of Oilers veteran forward Zach Hyman who will make his first appearance since the Oilers season opener. Hyman has been sidelined with an upper body injury, which is going to be a bit of a recurring theme.
Hyman won't be the only Oiler returning from an upper body injury with teammate Jake Walman also returning to the lineup after he missed 3 games with one of his own.
Last but not least, Oilers forward Colton Dach is slated to return according to Babcock with Dach having been sidelined for the last 16 days.
The return of 3 players to the lineup unfortunately means the Oilers will need to make room on their roster, and it will be forwards Joshua Samanski and Max Jones as well as defenseman Shakir Mukhamadullin who will be forced to the sidelines ahead of tonight's game in Utah.
