While fans in Montreal have been desperately awaiting for news regarding their injured superstar, Carey Price, it was actually the Maple Leafs head coach who provided a small update on Wednesday.
Mike Babcock was asked about the injured Habs goaltender due to his role with Team Canada for the upcoming World Cup of Hockey, and he didn't shy away from an answer.
"Carey Price is gonna be available. He is gonna get back and get healthy," said Babcock as per TSN's Conor McKenna.
Many would question Montreal's willingness to even allow Price to participate in such a tournament given his recent injuries, but Montreal general manager Marc Bergevin is also part of that staff, so Babcock likely has a very good source for his information.
While this is mere speculation, if Team Canada is absolutely certain Price will be available and healthy for the World Cup of Hockey, it could be a sign that Montreal expects him to return to play this season.
