Add this one to the seemingly never-ending list of absolutely moronic ideas that NBC analyst Mike Milbury has had... with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Columbus Blue Jackets heading to triple overtime in Game 1 of their opening round playoff series and Milbury is calling for the two teams to finish things off with a shootout... or 4 on 4. Or... who the Hell knows... it's Milbury and this take is AWFUL.
Check it out:
Hey, Mike... here's an idea: How about we don't and say we did?
This is playoff hockey, man! We can't make a mockery of the game just because you and your buddies need to hit the bar before closing time. You play until someone wins the game. Period.
I can tolerate the shootout and 3 on 3 OT in the regular season because, frankly, the games don't mean as much and those formats are entertaining. When the Stanley Cup is on the line though you don't mess with five on five hockey. It's the way the game is supposed to be played. Period.
Seriously... when is someone finally going to kick Milbury off the air?
