The Pittsburgh Penguins did an excellent job with their tribute to former longtime head coach Mike Sullivan on Saturday, and if there was any doubt in your mind the face of the man himself after that tribute had wrapped up will erase those doubts from your mind.

Sullivan returned to PPG Paints Arena on Saturday night, something he has done thousands of times before throughout his career in the National Hockey League, but this time was obviously very different with Sullivan returning for the first time since being fired as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Sullivan and his Rangers arrived ready to play but during a commercial break in the first period, the Penguins hit him right in the feels. The Penguins put together a very classy video tribute for the head coach that helped bring 2 Stanley Cups to the city of Pittsburgh, with numerous highlights from those Stanley Cup wins as well as others sprinkled in throughout the tribute. The fans in attendance did their job as well, roaring in approval for their former head coach and showing him a great deal of love, even long after the video had ended.

I believe it may have been that love from the fans that finally pushed Sullivan over the edge, with his face contorting as he tried to choke back the tears that were desperately trying to come out.

It was a beautiful moment for the longtime head coach as well as for all of the fans in Pittsburgh, and you can see the replay of that moment in the video just below:
