Mike Sullivan unleashes F-Bombs on Rangers during practice

After a 3-1 loss to the Wild, Sullivan didn’t hold back, letting his top units feel the heat at practice.

The New York Rangers managed to score on Monday, but still lost 3-1 at the hands of the Minnesota Wild and frustration is growing in the Big Apple. Artemi Panarin scored the Blue Shirts’ first home goal in four games, ending the Rangers home goal drought 57 seconds into the first period, but so much more is needed in NYC.

The Wild took control of the game after Panarin scored.

On Wednesday, head coach Mike Sullivan held an intense practice and was caught yelling and swearing at his players during a drill, especially when working with special units. He was laying into the top power play unit, yelling at them, “What the f—- was that?” after a poor rep.

It’s been a tough start to the 2025-26 season under their new head coach to say the least. The Rangers have one goal on 114 shots on goal in four home games. They’re 0-4-0. They have 15 goals on 114 shots on goal in four road games. They’re 3-0-1.

“We knew we were going to play a team that was going to come in with urgency based on circumstance, and we didn’t match the urgency,” Sullivan said after the game on Monday. “That was the challenge. We got outplayed tonight.”

And I’m sure his players felt the urgency, and his frustration, during practice today.

The Rangers are back in action Thursday night when they host the winless San Jose Sharks at the Madison Square Garden.
