Milan Lucic talks potential return to Boston Bruins

Rough and tumbling forward Milan Lucic is nearly at the end of his National Hockey League career, having just finished what was a seven year contract that he signed with the Edmonton Oilers in 2016 before being dealt to the provincial rival Calgary Flames prior to the 2019-20 season.
He will not be back with the Flames next season (along with several other players who are reportedly on the way out), but it sounds like he's not quite ready to hang up the skates.
While he was an extremely valuable member of the 2011 Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins and continued to consistently provide offense in subsequent years, his stats began to diminish in a big way after his first year with the Oilers. This past season with Calgary, he racked up only seven goals with 12 assists, his lowest career point total.
Meanwhile, he's been linked to a potential return to the Bruins, as well as hinting that he would like to finish out his career with this hometown Vancouver Canucks. But what does he have to say about his time with the Bruins as well as coming back for one last hurrah?
“Obviously, it’s a special place for me, and it will always be a special place for me,” Lucic said recently.
But we’ve got what, 10, 11 days to see what happens (before July 1)? We’ll see what happens and then go from there,” Lucic pointed out. “The main thing is fit. What’s my role going to be on a team? How will the coach use me? Who will I play with? All that type of stuff. If all that works out really well, then you’re happy going to the rink, and if you’re happy going to the rink, you’re playing better, and you’re playing at the top of your game.”
In 1,173 career NHL games spent with the Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Oilers and Flames, Lucic has tallied a total of 233 goals and 351 assists while also racking up 1,299 PIM.
