Wild beats Avalanche 3-0.
Minnesota Wild defeated their Central division rivals, the Colorado Avalanche 3-0 last night.
Unfortunately for Minnesota, the win came at a pretty steep price. Goaltender Devan Dubnyk went down during the game, in the middle of the second period.
Head coach Mike Yeo was pleased with his team's response to losing one of their best players:
"I was pretty impressed with how we handled that. You can read guys' body language and you can tell with the things that they are saying. Certainly a lot of positivity and I think it reflected in the play the way we went out."
Instead of getting deflated with the loss of Dubnyk, Minnesota scored quickly after the goaltender left the game. Matt Dumba scored with a big slapper. Justin Fontaine and Jason Pominville added a goal each.
Mike Yeo doesn't expect Dubnyk's injury to be serious, but he said that there is no reason to rush him back unless he is 100% healthy. The goaltender will meet with doctors today to know more about his knee injury.
