The Chicago Blackhawks missed a great opportunity last night to send a message to the rest of the league.

The game marked the first time ex-Blackhawks Patrick Sharp and Johnny Oduya faced their former team. Sharp did not waste anytime to make Chicago pay with an assist on Dallas' first goal. The forward added a goal with a wicked wrist shot that went in top-shelf on Corey Crawford.

Chicago only had 20 shots in the game and made it pretty easy for Antti Niemi who registered the shutout.

Patrick Kane was held pointless for only the 4th time this season.

Despite his good performance, Patrick Sharp did not like his game, here's why:

"It really wasn't that fun of a game. Hockey's a game you play with a lot of intensity, and that's hard to do against your buddies. I wouldn't say we dominated. It's tough to dominate a team like Chicago."

The Blackhawks will have the chance to get back in the win column on Sunday when they play the Carolina Hurricanes.
