Mitch Marner and Jason Robertson set to make NHL history on Tuesday night.
Two stars will collide.
Those who tune in to Tuesday night's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Dallas Stars will get to witness something never before seen in the history of the National Hockey League.
Never before in the history of the NHL have two players on a point streak of 18 or more consecutive games gone head to head, but that is exactly what will happen when Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson and Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner collide.
When the Maple Leafs travel to the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas they will bring with them the red hot Marner, who set a franchise record over the weekend when he extended his point streak to 19 consecutive games. Marner has accumulated 9 goals and 17 assists for a total of 26 points over that stretch of play, but arguably even more impressive has been the current point streak of Dallas Stars star forward Jason Robertson.
Robertson has been tearing up the NHL this season but has been especially dominant over his current 18 game point streak, which is a franchise record for the Dallas Stars. While his streak is one game shorter, Robertson has accumulated far more points than Marner with 21 goals and 13 assists for a whopping 34 points over just 18 games.
Both players have been tremendous, and we will see on Tuesday night if both of their streaks can live another day.
