The Montreal Canadiens wasted no time giving their fans something to cheer for at the 2016 Winter Classic.

Montreal opened the scoring after just 74 seconds when forward David Desharnais batted a puck out of mid air, and although it didn't seem like it was going in initially, it did managed to find it's way into the Boston net.

The shot may in fact not have gone it at all if not but for the intervention of Bruins defenseman Mark Stuart who appears to touch the puck on two separate occasions during the play.
