He was a first round pick.
The NHLPA has announced today, that Montreal Canadiens' forward, Zack Kassian will be entering phase two of Substance Abuse and Behavioural Health Program.
By doing so, Kassian is now available for Montreal.
Instead, the Canadiens have placed his name on waivers, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.
Kassian was drafted 13th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 2009. He was traded to Vancouver and Montreal in the past summer for beloved forward, Brandon Prust. In 198 games, Kassian scored 35 goals, 31 assists and 307 penalty minutes.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Kassian if he clears waivers. Will he play in the AHL? Not the kind of influence you want to be around your young prospect.
