Montreal Canadiens’ Carey Price may be trending for his performance at the 2023 NHL Draft, there is another thing buzzing about him lately since TVA Sports’ Elizabeth Rancourt spoke on a podcast about what Price’s real problem is with playing in the NHL.

And, according to her, it does not have to do with his injuries or the time he spent in the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program, but simply the fact that the netminder doesn’t love hockey. This is the explanation from Rancourt, translated from French.

“Every time, I burst people’s bubble when they tell me they’re into Price. He is a very good goalkeeper. […] But in my opinion, he is an athlete who does not like hockey. It’s that simple. He got here because he had the talent, but this guy, in my opinion, he just wants to go out West, fish and hunt. That’s it. […] In my opinion, hockey hasn’t been fun to him for years, but he stayed just because he’s got the talent and gets the money that comes with it. That’s all. »

Thus, Rancourt does not believe that Price always had the desire to play hockey towards the last years of his career. His comments remain quite intriguing and will no doubt make the team’s supporters react.
