The Montreal Canadiens have just sent their fan base into full on panic mode.

On Saturday, the Canadiens announced that young forward Juraj Slafkovsky had suffered an undisclosed upper-body injury and of course considering the fact that Slafkovsky was the first overall pick in the 2022 draft, this was big news. Thankfully though things did not sound too serious initially with the team announcing that he was being listed as day to day resulting in most fans expecting the young star to be back in short order.

The concerns for Slafkovsky were amplified on Monday however when the young forward was held out of the Canadiens morning skate, with the team making the official announcement shortly after. The Canadiens have now reported that Slafkovsky will be undergoing further testing and evaluation, again sending the fan base into full on panic mode.

There still has been no official confirmation of how Slafkovsky suffered the injury, but hopefully it won't prove to be anything too serious despite the need for additional testing. The 18 year old forward had played 5 games so far for the Canadiens this season and has 1 goal and 2 penalty minutes to his name thus far.

Stay tuned for more updates.
