Dallas Stars forward Evgenii Dadonov missed Game 4 of the Western Conference Final and won’t be able to take part in Game 5 on Saturday either. On Friday, head coach Pete DeBoer confirmed that his Russian forward won’t be able to play for the do or die Game 5 due to a lower-body injury, and could miss more time as well.
“He’s out (for Game 5). I would call it longer than day-to-day, but I wouldn’t call him done for the playoffs.”
Dadonov left Game 3 after an awkward collision with teammate Roope Hintz and did not return. Dallas avoided the sweep on Thursday night, getting the 3-2 overtime win in Game 4, thanks to Joe Pavelski, to stay alive in the postseason. The Stars managed to get that win despite being with Dadonov and captain Jamie Benn, who was handed a two-game suspension for his cross check on Mark Stone.
Another must-win game without Dadonov is a tough blow for the Stars, seeing that the veteran forward has put up 10 points in 16 games this postseason.
Let’s see if Dallas can survive again on Saturday in Vegas.
