This should be a good game later on!

Two Original 6 and Atlantic Division rivals will be squaring off in the Motor City this evening, as the Toronto Maple Leafs pay a visit to the Detroit Red Wings for their first matchup of the season. For the Red Wings, they'll be looking not only for their 5th straight victory, but also looking to snap a seven game winless skid against Toronto.
The Leafs arrive in Detroit on a streak of their own, having won three straight games of their own and thanks in large part to the strong play of forward Mitch Marner. He now has recorded at least one point in each of Toronto's last 16 games, approaching the team record of 18 games set by the legendary Darryl Sittler.
However, Seider isn't exactly cowering in fear. In fact, the reigning Calder Memorial Trophy winner as last season's best National Hockey League rookie is feeling confident - and with good reason.
"It’s remarkable, but we don’t need to worry about any guys on the other team. We can match any of their skill. I’m pretty confident about that. It will be a cool match-up ... we don’t need to hide anywhere"
According to head coach Derek Lalonde, Seider is a player who wears his emotions on his sleeve.
"He left a couple games early on, ‘I’ve cost us the entire game,’ on one turnover or play. I couldn’t remember the play ... but that’s the passion that you want. You can develop the other things, but that passion’s special."
Despite a few bumps in the road, the Red Wings have shown remarkable progress this year thanks in large part to the many offseason additions made by general manager extraordinaire Steve Yzerman. They're key getting contributions from all four lines as well as an improved back end, while first year Detroit goaltender Ville Husso sports an impressive 9-2-3 record.
Tonight's game will begin just after 7:00 PM EST.
