Moritz Seider's first NHL goal wins it in overtime.

The Red Wings defenseman continues to shine.

The Detroit Red Wings have a blossoming young star on their hands and on Saturday night they were treated to a very special moment indeed.

The Red Wings were facing off against the Buffalo Sabres in this one and after a full 60 minutes of regulation we had yet to determine a winner, forcing the game to go into overtime. There were chances at both ends during the overtime frame, but in the end it would be Red Wings rookie defenseman Moritz Seider that would secure the win for his team.

Seider came fresh off the bench against a group of tired Sabres players and when Tyler Bertuzzi fed him the puck he made no mistake. Seider saw an opening and he took it, charging toward the Sabres net, dangling around the defender, and finally firing the puck home to pick up the first goal of his very young career in the National Hockey League.

You could not have asked for a better moment to score your first ever goal in the big leagues, and as a result I'm confident this is a moment that Seider and his fans will remember forever.
