All of the talk in the National Hockey League right now surrounds New Jersey Devils' star forward Taylor Hall and for good reason. It has become readily apparent to fans and pundits alike that Hall's time as a New Jersey Devil has come to an end and the question on everyone's mind now is where will he end up?

Here's a bit of a timeline of how things have gone over the course of the past week or so:

We first heard that there were multiple teams involved when Sportsnet's National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman revealed the names of four teams that had interest in acquiring the aforementioned Hall via a trade.

"I do think the Oilers are one of several teams with the likes of Colorado, Montreal, and St. Louis who will be in this. I think a lot of it depends on price for the Oilers and anyone else who may bite," said Friedman at the time.

One week later in the early hours of Saturday morning insiders John Shannon and Bob McKenzie both chimed in with reports of their own, this time pointing to a new contender in the Arizona Coyotes as the potential odds on favorite to land the star forward.

From Shannon:

While there appears to be interest from multiple teams for Taylor Hall...keep hearing St Louis and Arizona at the top of the list.

From McKenzie:

I’m not saying Hall will end up in Arizona, but I would say Coyotes appear to be one of the teams with notable interest in him and likely have the motivation/wherewithal to perhaps get it done. Though I suspect they are not alone on those counts. On that note, I’m going to bed.

Later in the day TSN's Pierre LeBrun added the Florida Panthers to the mix:

"Hearing that the Florida Panthers have inquired on Taylor Hall. About 5-6 teams in the mix including Arizona and Colorado among others..." wrote LeBrun.

We have since heard that the Panthers are offering prospects and forward Vincent Trocheck as part of the package for Hall, however no word yet on where he will finally end up. We may not have to wait long for an answer however as The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta now reports that this one could be over soon.

"While still a fluid situation, albeit one that’s picked up significantly, and nothing is guaranteed at this point, there is a belief among those involved that NJ could finalize a Taylor Hall trade within the next 24 hours," wrote Pagnotta. "We shall see."

Update: Hall out again tonight according to John Shannon.
