“It's hard not to catch on.”
Some NHL players have superstitions, others have personalized goal celebrations. Nashville Predators forward Viktor Arvidsson is not only scoring beautiful goals, and quite a few of them - three in six games already - but he is celebrating each of them with the same gesture.
Shoot. Score. Salute.
"It just happens," Arvidsson said with a laugh to the Tennessean. "I just try to have some fun when I score. I feel like it comes when it comes."
The 24-year-old celebrated with the salute for the first time in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Pittsburgh Penguins in June and it has since become a routine move. And his teammates approve and understand why fans love it.
"He sure gets a lot of practice with it," Predators forward Colton Sissons said. "It's hard not to catch on."
