The headline just about says it all.
The Columbus Blue Jackets headed to overtime against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night and committed a major gaffe that allowed Andreas Athanasiou and Anthony Mantha challenge Sergei Bobrovsky on an uncontested 2-on-0 breakaway.
3-on-3 overtime often allows for crazy odd man rushes, and when you see two players barrel down towards a goalie with no one to defend them, you generally expect the puck to end up in the back of the net.
Not if Bobrovsky has something to say about it.
That's just unfair.
The Blue Jackets would go onto win the game 2-1. Talk about a timely save.
