Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk extended his shutout streak to three games with his 3-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers last night. Stop us if you’ve heard this before…
The 31-year-old goaltender was dynamite again last night, turning aside 30 shots and standing tall for the Wild all evening. Dubnyk now has made 106 saves since he last allowed a goal, he’ll look to extend his streak tomorrow night against the red hot Nashville Predators.
And here’s the thing: he’s making saves every which way. In tight? No chance. Breakaway? Try again. Point shots? No problem. Dubnyk has been a wall for the Wild as of late, which is excellent news for the injury ravaged team.
If the big goalie can keep up this level of play, look for him to be in the Vezina Trophy conversation once again as the NHL’s best goaltender.
